Dylan’s began in 1913 in Hutchinson, Kansas, when Jonathan S. Dillon opened his first store. Mr. Dillon grew his grocery store chain steadily but it was not until 1957 when his son helped him expand with plenty of stores in the Wichita, Kansas market. This grocery store chain has grown so large that today 12,000 associates work at 93 stores affiliated to the Dillon stores division. Kroger acquired the Dillon Company in 1983 and the first Dillons marketplace opened up in 2006 in Wichita, Kansas.
